Mode Tab

The Mode Tab will display the two models that LEAP Bridge Steel can be operated under: Design and Rating. The ribbon will change to display as shown below:

A brief description of each item follows:

Design - select this box to change LEAP Bridge Steel to Design Mode. Design mode is the default for LEAP Bridge Steel. When this option is selected all of the bridge definition commands on the main tree menu will be active and available for use.
Rating - select this box to change LEAP Bridge Steel to rating mode. When in rating mode, only bridge modeling commands that are applicable to rating will be available. On the main ribbon menu the Rating ID, Add Rating, and Remove Rating options will become available:
- Rating ID - Select the desired rating model from the list. LEAP bridge Steel can support many separate rating models in the same project
- Add Rating - Select this option to add a rating model to the project. The following dialog will appear:
  - Create a new rating by copying: - The initial rating model is started from a copy of the design model. Subsequently a rating model can be created by selecting any existing design or rating model from the list.
  - Rating ID: Enter the name of the rating model to be created.
  - OK - Press the OK button to save the new rating model.
  - Cancel - Press cancel to exit the command without saving.
- Remove Rating – Select this command to remove the current rating model (displayed in the Rating ID list) from the project.
